Matching Individuals with Mentors

At Bridge The Gap, we place high value on the therapeutic mentorship relationship. Therapeutic rapport is a key recipe in success for all individuals we work with. The development of trust, connection, and empathy creates an imperative foundation for experiential change. Upon engagement in mentorship, each individual is thoughtfully matched with a mentor that has the ability to meet their needs. Our team of mentors each bring a different specialty to the table which allows Bridge The Gap to provide support to a vast variety of individuals and families.

☑ Master Level Clinicians

Bridge The Gap has a team of master level mentors to support individuals and their families in integrating therapeutic skills in their daily routines. All mentors have past experience working as clinicians and share our value of supporting individuals to implement what they have learned during their therapeutic journey in their day to day.

☑ Substance Abuse Counselors

Bridge The Gap has a team of substance abuse mentors to support individuals in creating a sustainable program of recovery. These mentors have past experience working in different levels of care which allows them to meet each individual where they are at in their recovery journey. Some of the support provided with substance abuse struggles includes creating a 12 step meeting schedule, relapse prevention, identifying triggers, creating safety plans, and implementing healthy coping tools to relapse substance use.

☑ Crisis Intervention

All of our mentors are thoroughly trained in crisis intervention to be able to create safe connections and environments for our clients during crisis. Mentors gain a greater understanding of mental health struggles and substance use disorders so they are better able to assess risks and implement strategies to harbor safety. This training enhances our mentors abilities to de-escalate crisis situations and facilitate the individual and their family to transition our of the crisis and into the solution.

☑ Weekly Supervision

Each week, our mentors consult and collaborate with a clinician to ensure that they are providing optimal therapeutic support to the individuals and families we work with. We believe in the power of team work and value collaboration.

☑ Collaborative Liason

Bridge The Gap’s core value is collaboration. Often times, individuals and their families enter upon the mentorship relationship in need of additional supportive resources. Our team and founders work effortlessly to build an abundance of excellent resources to be able to make appropriate referrals to those we work with. We make continuous efforts to expand our local network. These collaborative resources include but are not limited to specialized therapist, educational consultants, psychiatrists, schools, physicians, pediatricians, neurofeedback, residential treatment programs, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, community resources, the list goes on.
