Lyle Sparks – Founder

Lyle has extensive experience in the Addiction and Mental Health fields. Lyle’s personal journey in recovery, education and work experience gives her the rare ability to provide clients with clinical savvy and personal empathy. She is a CADC (Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor, Loyola Marymount University), has a BA in Psychology from Cal Lutheran University, and a MA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Her work experience includes Boys and Girls Club Malibu – Wellness Center, Visions Adolescent Treatment Center, Ventura Recovery Center, Awakenings Treatment, and various supportive living homes. Additionally, Lyle has worked as a supportive companion throughout her time working in this field.

Lyle is committed to supporting individuals in implementing and strengthening their coping tools. She works with her clients to incorporate these skills into their daily lives; to reach their goals, gain empowerment, increase self-esteem, and be in their lives in a confident and meaningful way. Her personal and professional experience give Lyle a unique perspective, touching the lives of many.

Lyle creates a space where teens, young adults, and adults feel safe, empowered, and supported. Lyle partners with her clients to facilitate their journey in increasing their self-esteem, confidence, and coping mechanisms so they are able to walk through and overcome challenges.

Sally McClain – Director of Therapeutic Mentoring Programs

Sally McClain is an Associate Clinical Social Worker that has a passion for helping teens and young adults gain self-confidence, empowerment, and wellness. Sally has worked alongside many of our client’s and their support teams to help them increase executive functioning skills, apply healthy coping tools, and make sure everyone is on the same page.

Sally obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California in addition to her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California Lutheran University. She is Director of Therapeutic Mentoring Programs at Bridge the Gap Services. Sally is trained and certified in Equine Assisted Therapy. During her master’s program, Sally completed her internship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in Endocrinology and the USC Westside Center for Diabetes.

Sally began her career in this field working in dual diagnosis treatment centers as a neurofeedback specialist, where she worked hands-on with clients to assist them in their recovery process. Sally spent two years working on a research team with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, creating a clinic style intervention for children living with Type 1 Diabetes. She has worked alongside diabetes educators and endocrinologists, where she has gained a wealth of knowledge in patient care. She is passionate about helping her clients reach their goals.

Kimberly Wick – Director of Family Mentoring Programs

Kimberly is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and holds a Masters in Clinical Psychology and a MBA in International Business. She is an adjunct faculty member at Pepperdine University in the Graduate School of Psychology.

Kimberly began her business career after graduating from her MBA program at Loyola Marymount University working in the field of international sales for film and television. In 1990, she started her own distribution company and had a great run for many years. Parallel to her business life, her time was spent in the wellness community – whether she was taking a yoga class, attending a seminar or reading self-help books.

After many years of her own therapy, both individual and family, she became passionate about the field of psychology and how we create patterns in our own lives that seem to land us in a very similar place… different story line perhaps… but same process. In 2000, she decided to two make a drastic shift in her life. She went back to school and began her journey in the field of mental health and addiction treatment.

Today she works with individuals and families whose loved ones are suffering from debilitating mental health issues and/or addiction issues. She collaborates with her client’s support team – psychiatrist, doctor, school counselor. This communication along with a goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment plan is paramount to her helping her clients navigate their own challenging situations.

Kurtis Girard – Interventionist and Director of Professional Relationships

Kurtis has been working to positively impact individuals struggling with substance use and mental health afflictions since 2010. He has held a multitude of titles and responsibilities throughout his time working in the treatment industry. These positions range from direct client care to Director of various departments. While in these roles, Kurtis worked effortlessly to provide optimal client support for numerous populations. He has worked for premiere high-end facilities and in network ones providing care to underserved populations. His vast experience in different networks of treatment settings has allowed for the placement of an uncountable number of afflicted individuals to receive care that is best suited for them.

In 2014, the role of admissions became a passion for Kurtis. Not long after, he saw the need for client and family mentorship which led him to explored and develop excellent and effective coaching skills. He has coached a diverse range of families through their own interventions and healing journeys. In 2018, Kurtis was trained as an interventionist through Hightower associates, a leading group of treatment service providers founded by a pioneer in the field. His personal experience, kindness, and unwavering passion to support those in need gives Kurtis a rare ability to connect with both individuals and their families in a way that successfully launches them from their suffering into a sustainable solution.
